Remove

Remove front door trim.

Drill out plastic spot welds (5).

If armrest has been plastics welded.


Observe drilling and cutting depth.
Inside door opener (1) or door trim can otherwise be damaged by drilling through.

 Operate cordless drill/driver with spot facer (8) for cutting off plastic spot welds (5) at high drilling speed and low advance.
Aim for an undercut of up to 2 mm in order to ensure sufficient preload.
Use spot facer (8), M4 according to DIN 373 with head diameter 8 mm and pin diameter 3.3 mm.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Cordless drill/screwdriver

If plastic flowed into the plastic spot welds (5) during welding,



redrill plastic spot welds (5) with a drill bit Ø 3.5 mm.

Remove screws from plastic spot welds (5).

If armrest has been screwed on.

Remove inside door opener (1).



Install

Install inside door opener (1) and screw on at plastic spot welds (5).

 The number of screws required corresponds to the number of plastic spot welds drilled (5).

Install front door trim.
