Remove

Remove front door lining (1)

 Lay door lining front side down on suitable subsurface to prevent damage!

Remove speaker cover (3)

Unclip left front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3) or right front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4) and disconnect electrical connector (7)

 Treat ribbon cable carefully to prevent damage.

Separate sound deadening mat (2) from front door lining (1) until plastic bonds (arrows) on door pocket (4) are accessible

Separate plastic bonds (arrows) and remove plastic residues from front door lining (1)

 When initially removing door
pocket (4).

 Do not operate at excessive speed because the plastic becomes too hot, melts and galls the spherical milling cutter.

Bend open clamping plates (6) with suitable screwdriver and remove from pins

 When removing door pocket (4) a second time

6.1

Remove plastic residues from front door lining (1).

 When initially removing door
pocket (4).

Wet/dry vacuum cleaner

Remove door pocket (4) from front door lining (1)



Install

Thread electrical connector (7) through corresponding opening in door pocket (4) and insert door pocket (4) into front door lining (1).

 Replace door pocket (4)

Press clamping plates (6) over pins (5)

 Replace clamping plates (6). Use 11 mm socket with suitable handle. The clamping plates (6) should make firm contact with front door lining (1).

Install speaker cover (3)

 Do not yet install door lining

Connect electrical connector (7) with left front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3) or right front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4) and clip left front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3) or right front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4) into front door lining (1)

 Treat ribbon cable carefully to prevent damage.

Fasten sound deadening mat (2) to front door lining (1)

 Apply glue (e.g. with thermoplastic adhesive gun) and fasten sound deadening mat (2) on front door lining (1)

Install front door lining (1)
