Remove/install

Detach cover (4) from center console (1) and lay down toward front with lines connected

Unscrew bolts (5) and remove cover (6)

Release parking brake

 Hand brake lever (7) should be in bottom-most position.

Remove cover (3) for stowage box in rear

When replacing center console (1).

Unscrew screws (8) and remove cover (9)

 On vehicles with code (810) lay sound system cover (9) down toward rear with electrical lines connected.

Unscrew nuts (10), remove stowage tray (11) and lay down toward rear

 Do not disconnect electrical connectors.

 Installation: Before tightening nuts (10) close cover (3) and align stowage compartment (11).

Open cover (2) for stowage box in center console (1)

Unclip cover (12) with suitable screwdriver and unscrew nut (13)

Unclip cover (14) with screwdriver and disconnect all electrical connectors (15) located behind

 Number of electrical connectors (15) depends on equipment

Disconnect electrical connector (16) from stowage compartment illumination between backrests (E13/3)

On vehicles with code (876) Interior light package

Disconnect electrical connector (17) from Bluetooth antenna (A2/91)

On vehicles up to 30.11.06
with Code (386) Preinstallation for cell phone, UPCI system or
with Code (388) Cell phone, UPCI system

Close cover (2) for stowage box in center console (1)

Loosen nut (18) until center console (1) can be removed together with bracket (19)

Loosen center console (1) at front from hooks (22) on instrument panel (21) and remove from vehicle toward rear and upward.

 Installation: Ensure that wiring harness are routed correctly below center console (1).

Remove cover (2) for stowage box in center console (1)

When replacing center console (1).

On vehicles up to 30.11.06
without code (359) TELE AID emergency call system,
without code (386) Preinstallation for cell phone, UPCI system,
without code (387) Preinstallation for cell phone, UPCI system USA/Canada,
without code (388) Cell phone, UPCI system,
without code (498) Japan version

or on vehicles as of 1.12.06

 Installation: Check cover (2) for proper function, if necessary loosen bolts (20) on mount (19) and align cover (2) along mount (19, arrow) with mounting wedge.



Unscrew bolts (20) and remove bracket (19) from center console (1)

When replacing center console (1).

Unscrew bolts (23) and remove bluetooth antenna (A2/91) from cover (14)

When replacing center console (1) on vehicles up to 30.11.06
with code (386) Preinstallation for cell phone, UPCI system or
with code (388) Cell phone, UPCI system.

Open cove r(24), unclip center stowage CL motor (M14/19) from center console (1), detach from spring (25) and expose electric wiring harness (26)

When replacing center console (1).

Unclip center stowage compartment switch, ATA (S62/8) from center console (1) and expose electric wiring harness (27)

When replacing center console (1) on vehicles with code (882) Interior monitoring (only with ATA).

Install in the reverse order
