Remove

Check adjustment of sliding door, correct if necessary

When removing and installing side window (1) in sliding door.

Remove inner sealing frame (2) from window cutout

Fix two cup suction tools in side window (1)

Install cutting wire to remove sliding window

When removing side window (1) designed as sliding window.

 For this purpose use Roll Out window removal tool with wire guide set for Sprinter.

 Warning

Risk of injury from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Cut out side window (1) with Roll out and remove

Vacuum off glass splinters and contamination



Install

Prepare side window cutout (1) for installation

 Ensure that not more than 1 mm of adhesive bead remains. Pull off loose adhesive material (remaining pieces which are not completely cut off). Repair paint damage not covered by glue with primer.

Open rear-end door or window in driver door


Rear door or window in driver door must be open.
This prevents the side window (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when the doors are closed.

Install side window (1)

Observe dimensions of adhesive bead and guide triangular nozzle of cartridge gun at right angle to side window (1).
Otherwise the adhesive can be pressed out of the window edge when installing or leaktightness and strength are not ensured.


After applying the adhesive, install the side window (1) within 10 minutes.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

 Observe curing time of adhesive according to manufacturers specifications.

Remove adhesive strips for fastening side window (1) after the adhesive has cured

Install inner sealing frame (2) in window cutout

Clean side window (1) and vehicle interior in repair area
