Scribe separating points and cut (areas A and B).

Do not make the cuts too deep.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

Expose spot welds on inner A-pillar reinforcement (2) and cut out (areas C to G).

Cut out spot welds on both sides (area G).

Bend open sheet metal lug (area G).

Remove damaged inner A-pillar reinforcement (2).

Partially cut off inner A-pillar reinforcement

Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas .


Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

Remove shavings and drill chips.



7

Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
