The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
1 | Apply sealant to foam part in crosshatched area (area A). |
2 | Apply 2-component adhesive in crosshatched area on body (area B). |
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive. |

3 | Install rear outer wheel well (1) and fit. |
4 | Install window ledge reinforcement and fit. |
5 | Install rear fender and fit. |
6 | Install trunk lid. |
7 | Install soft top compartment lid. |
8 | Install rear lamp. |
9 | Install striker eye. |
10 | Install seal. |
11 | Check and adjust gap dimensions. |
12 | Fix outer rear wheel well (1) in place. |
13 | Remove seal. |
14 | Remove striker eye. |
15 | Remove taillamp. |
16 | Remove soft top compartment lid. |
17 | Remove trunk lid. |
18 | Remove rear fender. |
19 | Remove window ledge reinforcement. |
20 | Outer rear wheel well (1) (areas C). |
21 | Outer rear wheel well (1) (area D). |
22 | Bend over sheet metal lugs (arrows) |
