The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage

Install outer rear wheel well (1), side wall (2), rear fender, taillamp, seal, trunk lid, soft top compartment lid and lock striker and fit.

Check and adjust gap dimensions.

Fix outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2) in place.

Remove rear fender, taillamp, seal, trunk lid, soft top compartment lid and lock striker.

Rivet Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2) (areas B1, B2 and B3).

Rivet Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2) (areas B4 and B5).

Transfer position of present holes in body to new part (area B4).

Remove outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2).

Deburr rivet holes on outer rear wheel well (1), side wall (2) and body on both sides.

Remove drilling chips.

Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched area (areas G1, G2 and G3).

Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for curing and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

Install outer rear wheel well

Install outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2) and fix in place.

Rivet outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2) with Ø 6.4x12 rivets (areas C1, C2 and C3).

Rivet outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2) with Ø 6.4x12 rivets (areas C4 and C5).

Rivet outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2) from outside (area C4).

Outer rear wheel well (1) and side wall (2)   (area D1, D2 and D3).

Seal on weld seams required.
Weld seams are located in moist area.

Install strut (3), fit and fix in place.

Drill 6.7 mm rivet holes on strut (3) (areas F1, F2 and F3).

Remove strut (3).

Apply 2-component adhesive to crosshatched area.

Install strut (3), fit and fix in place.

Rivet strut (3) with Ø 6.4x12 rivets (areas H2, H3 and H4).

Strut (3) (area H1).

Clean welding areas no longer accessible after installing rear fender with zinc dust paint.
