Unlock electrical connectors on fuel filter, fixing cover and tank pressure sensor, disconnect and set aside

See open, close plug on fuel tank.

Remove battery

Unhook parking brake cable (4) on relay lever (5)

Pull jacket (6) for parking brake cable (4) from bracket

 Press together both retaining tabs (arrows).

Remove underfloor paneling (12)

Remove rear axle.

Receive right rear fender liner (7)

Detach hose clamps (8)

 Installation: Check hose clamps (8), replace if required.

Detach fuel hoses (9)

 Cut into and detach jammed fuel hoses (9) with a knife, otherwise the fitting on the fuel tank (17) rip off.

Remove bolt (10) on filler pipe (11)

Clamp off fuel hose (13) with  clamping device and remove from fuel filter (14) or fuel line

 Installation: Check hose clamp (15) and fuel hose (13) and replace if necessary otherwise there is a danger of leaks and injury to persons or damage to equipment and the environment.



Unscrew nuts for retaining straps (18) on underbody



Remove fuel tank (17)

 Fix propeller shaft (19) in place with cable ties after removal of the fuel tank (17).

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform test run engine and check for leaks in fuel system and for proper operation of fuel level display
