Remove/install

Relieve pressure in hydraulic system

Remove cover (1)

Detach left and right tie rods (4, 5) from piston of steering cylinder (6); when doing so, counterhold piston on wrench flats (arrow)

Installation: Coat the thread of the tie rods (4, 5) with thread locking compound.

Detach driver (3) from piston of steering cylinder (6)

Installation: The lubricating nipple must point downward.

Detach hydraulic lines (7) from steering cylinder (6)

Collect steering gear oil which flows out.

Unscrew bolts (8) and remove steering cylinder (6)

Installation: Coat the thread of the bolts (8) with thread locking compound.

Install in the reverse order

Check toe, correct if necessary

Teach in auxiliary steering axle system (ZL)

Bleed hydraulic system for auxiliary steering axle

Conduct a road test

Check that the entire system functions correctly.

Check system for leaks
