Oil filling procedure | |||
Warning | Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure.Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid. | Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
1 | Fill recommended oil in the steering reservoir for the first filling. | This is recommended to change the oil when any service procedure is carried out in the power steering gearbox.
Fill power steering oil in the reservoir
2 | Remove the cover of the container and fill with hydraulic oil up to the maximum level of the container during the oil change.
3 | Crank the engine with the starter to fill the oil in an entire hydraulic system. | The oil must be continuously topped up during this process to maintain the required oil level.
Bleeding procedure | |||
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
4 | Start engine with the steering axle jack up after the steering system has been filled with oil. | This ensures that the oil level no longer falls below the lower marking on the oil reservoir when the engine is turned on.
5 | Allow the engine to run for some time at low speed, thus allowing the air to escape from the cylinder. | The oil level must be observed during this process.
6 | Turn the wheels slowly towards extreme right and extreme left for ensuring the proper escape of air. | This procedure needs to be repeated approximately 8 times to ensure escape of air. |
