No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Remove transmitter key from ignition lock and disconnect ground line from battery

Disconnect ground cable from additional battery

Disconnect electrical connector (2)

Remove screws/bolts (3)

Installation: Replace bolts (3).
Screw in the bolts (3) in a crosswise sequence and tighten in stages.

Remove ESP control unit (1)


Pull the ESP control unit (1) off the hydraulic unit carefully, straight and without tilting or tipping.
The valves and ESP control unit (1) can otherwise be damaged.

Install in the reverse order

Connect diagnostic system and read out fault memory

Delete the fault memory if necessary.

In diagnostic system, make settings under menu item "Control unit adaptations".

When replacing ESP control unit (1).

Disconnect diagnostic system
