| For safety reasons all the brake pads on the axle should be replaced at the same time. | ||
| Switch vehicle to service mode. | With code CL0 (air suspension)
| Unscrew cap on brake fluid reservoir.
| Remove rear road wheels.
| Pull locking cotter pin (5) off the guide pins (4)
| Drive guide pins (4) out of the brake caliper (1) | Installation: Lubricate guide pins (4) lightly with silicone grease.

| Remove retaining spring (3) | Observe installation position of retaining spring (3).
| Disconnect brake lining wear indicator sensor (9) at plug connection.
| Remove brake pads (2) from rear axle | Installation: The brake pad (2) with the brake lining wear indicator sensor (9) is installed on the inside. Rub in a thin film of brake pad paste at the side guides and piston contact surfaces of the carrier plate of the brake pads.

| Reset brake caliper piston. | In order to prevent damage to the dust boot when installing the brake pads (4), it is absolutely essential to ensure that after resetting the brake caliper piston the dust boot is folded in completely and does not project anywhere.
The brake fluid is guided back to the brake fluid reservoir by resetting the brake caliper piston. Make arrangements to collect any brake fluid which escapes from the reservoir.
