Press the STEP button.

 Articulation angle measurement is selected.

Press STEP button while main menu is displayed. "Measurement" is selected.

 The measurement of all angles (four angles on vehicles with 2-piece propeller shaft and five angles on vehicles with 3-piece propeller shaft) should be performed without interruption. An angle that has already been measured can be measured a second time if required. To do so, with the Measurement menu displayed, press the STEP button repeatedly until the display indicates Ready to measure the relevant angle.

Clean mounting hole in electrical auxiliary oil pump (M42) and surrounding area.

Model 222 with transmission 724.2
Clean mounting hole in transmission housing and surrounding area.

Select suitable measuring sleeve mount (020e) for mounting hole.

Insert measuring sleeve mount (020e) into mounting hole.

Turn threaded pin (020f) to left and tighten.

Screw measuring sleeve (020g) onto measuring sleeve mount (020e) and tighten all the way up to electric auxiliary oil pump (M42) by hand.

 The entire contact surface of the measuring sleeve (020g) must lie flat against the electric auxiliary oil pump (M42).

Model 222 with transmission 724.2
Screw measuring sleeve (020g) onto measuring sleeve mount (020e) and tighten by hand all the way up to the contact surface on the underside of the transmission.

 The entire contact surface of the measuring sleeve (020g) must lie flat against the transmission housing.

Mount sensor holder (020c) with both bolts centrally onto sensor (020a).

Fit sensor (020a) with magnetic sensor mount (020c) on measuring sleeve (020g) by turning slightly.

 When each measurement is taken, the side of the sensor (020a) at which the spiral cable (020b) is connected must point in the direction of travel.
Otherwise measurement errors can occur.

 The device is ready to take a measurement and the measured values are shown in the display.

Press SAVE button. The values are saved.

Remove sensor (020a) from measuring sleeve (020g).

Detach sensor mount (020c) from sensor (020a).

Unscrew measuring sleeve (020g) from measuring sleeve mount (020e).

Release threaded pin (020f) and remove measuring sleeve mount (020e) from mounting hole.
