Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove rear engine crossmember

 The rear engine mount remains on the transfer case.

Lower transfer case

Mark position of propeller shaft (1) relative to flange of front axle gear and relative to flange of transfer case.

 In order when installing to be able to reproduce the installation position used by the plant.

Remove bolts (2) from transfer case

 Installation: It is essential to observe the tightening pattern otherwise noise development and vibrations can occur in the drive train.

 Installation: Check for cleanliness of contact surfaces, if necessary clean contact surfaces of bolts (2).

 Replace bolts (2).



 Installation: It is essential to observe the tightening pattern otherwise noise development and vibrations can occur in the drive train.

Remove propeller shaft (1) downward

 Installation: Make sure that the installation direction of the propeller shaft (1) is correct.



Checking

Check constant velocity joint and double cardan U-joint for wear or damage

 If necessary, replace propeller shaft (1).

Install in the reverse order
