Remove

1

Remove propeller shaft (7).

Remove collar nut  (40).

 To do so, screw 2 screws into joint flange (41) and counterhold joint flange (41) using    counterholder.

Detach joint flange (41).

Pry radial shaft sealing ring (42) out of rear axle differential (50) using a suitable tool.


Do not damage seat of radial shaft sealing ring (42) in rear axle differential (50).
Otherwise leaks may occur.



Install

Clean sitting surface of radial shaft sealing ring (42) in rear axle differential (50).

Assembly cleaner

Check sitting surface of radial shaft sealing ring (42) in rear axle differential (50) for damage.

If damage is found,



Replace rear axle differential (50).

Coat radial shaft sealing ring (42) on inner sealing lip with transmission oil.



Universal hypoid gear oils (specification 235.7)

Do not apply any transmission oil to seat surface and outer circumference of radial shaft sealing ring (42).
Otherwise leaks may occur.

 Replace radial shaft sealing ring (42).

Press radial shaft sealing ring (42) into rear axle differential (50).

Push on joint flange (41).

Tighten collar nut (40).

 Replace collar nut (40) and secure by caulking after tightening.
