Install joint flange at drive pinion

Spray splines in coupling flange and on pinion and wipe with a clean rag.

Coat splines in coupling flange with sealant and fit onto drive pinion.

Attach retainer wrench (01) to joint flange.

Screw on new collar nut and tighten carefully in stages until the specified total friction moment is obtained.  
Check total friction moment after each retightening operation using torque meter (02).


To check, detach the retainer wrench (01) from the joint flange.

Never correct total friction coefficient by slackening collar nut.

Do not tighten the collar nut too much.
Otherwise the inner compression ring will be squeezed together and damaged.
