Position the torque wrench (2) with the socket wrench adapter (1) on collar nut.

Spin the intermediate gear (3) with the torque wrench (2), and read the friction torque.  


Spin continuously by at least 3 turns.


If the friction torque is not according to the specifications:

Correct with a proper adjustment washer.


In case of high friction torques: use a adjustment washer of smaller thickness.
In case of low friction torques: use a adjustment washer of greater thickness.


In case of new tapered roller bearings, consider the upper nominal value.
In case of re-used tapered roller bearings, consider the lower nominal value.
