Disassemble

1

Remove the crown with the differential

Extract the tapered roller bearing (1, 7) from the differential casing (6)

Remove the oil baffle plate (6) from the differential casing

Secure the ring gear with the differential case in the seat of the tapered roller bearing (7)

 Secure it by the differential side.

Remove the bolts (2) and the ring gear (3) from the differential casing (6)

 If needed, use a rubber hammer.

Remove the pressure ring (4) and the axle shaft gear (5) from the differential casing (6)

Remove the differential casing (6) from the securing device



Assemble

Secure the differential casing (6) by the seat of the tapered roller bearing (7)

Install the pressure ring (4) and the axle shaft gear (5) in the differential casing (6)

Install the guide pin in the differential casing (6)

 Install a guide pin in each side of the differential casing (6), in two opposite points.

Install the ring gear (3) in the differential casing (6)

Install new bolts (2) on the ring gear (3)

 Replace the guide pins by bolts (2).

Install the oil baffle plate in the differential casing (6)

Remove the ring gear (3) with the differential case from the securing device

 Warning

Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Heat the tapered roller bearings (1, 7) to approx. 80 °C, and install the bearings on the differential casing (6) up to the stop

 Pay attention to the different diameters of the tapered roller bearings (1, 7).
If needed, press-in the inner ring of the tapered roller bearings (1, 7) with a proper mandrel.

Install the bevel gear with the differential
