Drain the oil from the rear axle

Remove the stabilizer bar from the rear axle

Mechanically lock the differential lock

Remove the compressed-air connection (4) from the differential lock

Disconnect the temperature sensor plug (7)

Remove the screws (5) and remove the propeller shaft (6)

Unscrew the screws (1) and remove the rear axle shafts (2)

Pull-out the rear axle shafts (2) for approx. 170 mm.

Remove the differential assembly (9)

Utilize an appropriate device.

Install

Clean the sealing surfaces on the axle housing and on the differential assembly (9) and apply sealing compound

Install the guide pin in the differential housing

Apply grease to the support points (3) on the differential housing

MB multipurpose grease, 5 kg

Install the differential assembly (9) and tighten the screws (8)

Utilize an appropriate device.

Install the axle shafts (2) and tighten the screws (1)

Clean the sealing surface in the axle shafts (2) flange and in the wheel hubs and apply the sealing compound

Install the propeller shaft (6)

Connect the temperature sensor plug (7)

Install the compressed-air connection (4) to the differential lock

Mechanically unlock the differential lock
