Remove

Remove the nut with collar and the drive flange

 Ratio wrench

Remove the differential lock cylinder

Remove the slotted nut (1), the locking washer (2), the threaded ring (3)

 Remove also the sealing inner races.

 Assembly wrench

Remove the screws (11) and remove the differential cover (4)

Remove the tapered roller bearing race (9)

Only when replacing the differential cover and/or tapered roller bearings.



Clean

Clean the sealing and contact surfaces on the differential cover (4) and on the differential housing (10)



Install

Install the tapered roller bearing race (9)

Only when replacing the differential cover and/or tapered roller bearings.

 Use the appropriate tool.

Install the interaxle differential cover (4) into the differential housing (10)

 apply a sealing compound.

Install the screw collar (3)

 Install the sealing inner races.

 Threaded ring

Install the locking washer (2) and the slotted nut (1) to the interaxle differential cover (4)

 Using an appropriate tool, bend a part of the locking washer (2) into the existing recesses in the interaxle differential cover (4).
