Remove/install rear axle shaft

1 Rear axle shaft

2 Cone ring

3 Circlip

4 Nut

5 Wheel hub

Removing

Unscrews nuts (4) and remove circlips (3)

Loosen rear axle shaft (1) from wheel hub (5) and remove cone rings (2)

Pull rear axle shaft (1) out of axle tube

Oil escapes from the wheel hub (5) when removing the rear axle shaft (1).

Remove remains of seal on rear axle shaft (1) and on wheel hub (5)

Install

Coat sealing surface of the rear axle shaft (1) evenly with sealant

Insert rear axle shaft (1) in the axle tube and align threaded bolts of the wheel hub (5) with the holes in the rear axle shaft

Slide in the rear axle shaft (1) until it abuts with the wheel hub (5) and attach cone rings (2)

Attach nuts (4) with circlips (3) and tighten evenly in a crosswise pattern

Check rear axle oil level and correct if necessary
