| Disassemble | ||
1 | Remove the bell hub with the planetary gear carrier | ||
2 | Remove the planetary gear carrier (1) from the bell hub (9) | Mark the mounting position of the planetary gear carrier on the bell hub. | |
Remove the external thrust washers (7) | Before disassembling the planetary gears, mark and maintain separate each set comprising of shaft, gears, rollers, thrust washer and intermediate washer. | ||
4 | Remove the planetary gears (4), the rollers (6) and the intermediate washers (5) | ||
5 | From the planetary gear carrier (1), remove the internal thrust washers (2) and the sun gear thrust washer (8) | ||
6 | Remove the shafts (3) from the planetary gear carrier (1) | ||
| Assembling | ||
7 | With a plastic hammer install the shafts (3) in the planetary gear carrier (1) | The shafts oil supply holes have to point outward. | |
8 | Install the thrust washer of the sun gear (8) in the planetary gear carrier (1) | ||
9 | Install the internal thrust washers (2) on the shafts (3) | The internal thrust washer lubrication grooves will have to make contact with the planetary gears. Position the thrust washers (2) so they make contact with the thrust washer (8) of the planetary gear and remain fixed by pressure. | |
10 | Install the planetary gears (4) centered over the shafts (3) | The planetary gears and the shafts are marked with the same color which represents the assembly. Only assemblies of the same color are to be installed . | |
11 | Lubricate the rollers (6) and the intermediate rings (5) and install them in the planetary gears (4) | Confirm that the rollers (6) and the intermediate washers (5) remain free. | |
12 | Instal the external thrust washers (7) on the planetary gears (4) | The thrust washer lubrication grooves will have to make contact with the planetary gears. | |
13 | Install the bell hub (9) on the planetary gear carrier (1) | ||
Install new bolts. Bolts with integrated washer, once tightened to the specified torque, will have to be locked with a center punch. On cast bell hubs, self-locking bolts are to be utilized unconditionally. | |||
