Support vehicle by frame

Remove ABS sensor

Detach brake wear indicator connector (5)

Detach compressed air lines (6) from combination brake cylinders

Remove/install compressed-air line connector
With compressed air connection system "VOSS 230"

Remove/install compressed-air line connectorWith compressed air connection system "VOSS 232" (NG 8, 12) or "SCHÄFER SDF" (NG 6)

 Installation: Check O-rings and replace if necessary.

Detach compressed air distributor (2) from rear axle

Disconnect rear axle housing vent line (3) and combination brake cylinder vent lines (4)

Detach temperature sensor connector (15)

Detach differential lock connector (10) from differential lock

Detach compressed air line (8) from differential lock

 Installation: Use new sealing rings (9).

Disconnect propeller shaft from rear axle

Disconnect air suspension linkage (7) from rear axle

Support rear axle with jack

Detach shock absorber (16) from rear axle

Discharge air suspension system

Remove bolt (14) from bottom of air suspension bellows

 Rear axle 748.590Screw/bolt, air spring bellows piston to air bellows support

Remove bearing cap (11)

 Allow stabilizer bar (13) to hang down.

Detach wishbone control arm (1) from rear axle

Lower rear axle and pull out below vehicle

Detach air suspension bellows carrier from rear axle

 Only when replacing rear axle.
