Remove/install

1

Park the vehicle on a flat road, apply the parking brake and shim the wheels

Completely relieve pressure from the compressed air system

Remove the wheels from the rear axle

 After lifting the vehicle, let the lifting device leaned in the rear axle.

Let the vehicle rest on the chassis

Remove the rotation sensor of the anti-lock brake system (ABS)

 On both sides of the axle.

Separate the electric connection in the brake lining wear sensor (3)


Remove and install the connections only in axial direction.
Otherwise, the electric connection can be damaged and the brake caliper will have to be replaced.

Remove the compressed air pipings from the combined brake cylinder and from the transversal lock (13)

Separate the electric connection in the transversal lock switch (13)

Separate the electric connection in the temperature sensor (4)

Pull off the connection of the rear axle ventilation (14)

Fix the compressed air distributor on rear axle, remove the cable holder and attach on the side

Remove the sensor rods of the pneumatic suspension (5)

 On both sides of the axle.

Remove rear axle propeller shaft

 Be careful not to let the propeller shaft fall.

Remove the shock absorbers (7) from the rear axle

 Shock absorber to rear axle air suspension

Remove the two bearing caps (10) from the bellow support (11), and press the stabilizer arm (12) outwards the housing

 Eventually, depending on the vehicle equipment and the available space, the stabilizer arm (12) should eventually be completely removed.
