Detach hub cap (1)

 Replace hub cap (1) if it is damaged.



Remove front wheels



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Remove/install bottom parts of soundproofing

 Only remove bottom sections of noise encapsulation at the front.

Unscrew bolts (2a, 2b) and pull lower wishbone out of front axle carrier

 Detach cover from front axle carrier in order to allow access to the rear bolts (2a).

Note different bolt lengths (2a, 2b).

Replace nut on wishbone.

To tighten the bolt (2a) the lifting platform must be lowered so that the vehicle is standing on its wheels. Turn the steering to the left or right as necessary (accessibility).

Unscrew nut (9) holding connecting rod (8) to front torsion bar (12) and nut (10) holding connecting rod (8) to spring strut (11) and remove connecting rod (8)

 Installation: Do not twist or damage rubber boot. Dirt ingress could damage the ball joint.

 The link rods (8) with thread M10 must be replaced each time after they are disassembled. Counter the ball head bolts on the connecting rods (8).

Check link rods (8) with M12 thread, replace if necessary.



Press front axle shafts (4, 5) out of front axle shaft flange



Remove bolt (6)

 Installation: Replace self-locking bolts (6) and retap thread in crankcase.



Press right front axle shaft (5) out of transmission

 Installation: Carefully insert the right front axle shaft into the longitudinal splines in the transmission.

Remove right front axle shaft (5)

 Check condition of boots and if necessary:



Replace boots.

Press left front axle shaft (4) out of transmission using a suitable screwdriver

 Installation: Install new circlip (7).

The opening in the locking ring (7) must point downwards when installed. Carefully insert left front axle shaft into the splines in the transmission until it locks firmly in place.

Remove left front axle shaft (4)

 Check condition of boots and if necessary:



Replace boots.
