Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle

Remove front wheel



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Unclip brake hose bracket from suspension strut

 Remove cable ties

Unplug wheel speed sensor connector in wheel well

Remove left or right front brake pad contact sensor (S10/1, S10/2) on brake caliper



Remove brake caliper and tie to one side

 Do not detach brake line.



Detach torsion bar connecting rod (78) from suspension strut

 Use Allen wrench to apply counterpressure to the ball joint as required.



Detach cross strut (29) from the front axle carrier



Detach the stabilizer bar from the front axle carrier (1)

Detach torque strut (18) from front axle carrier (1)

Remove track rod from steering knuckle assembly



Secure front-axle half to prevent it from falling down

Unscrew rebound stop

Vehicles without code P98 Black Series

Check spring strut for leaks and damage

If leakages are visible at the shock absorber: 

Check shock absorber.

Perform wheel alignment check
