Remove/install

Remove hub cap from corresponding front wheel.

If the front wheel has to be removed for this purpose,



remove corresponding front wheel, then mount again.

Release bolt for front axle shaft to wheel hub.

 Screw/bolt, front axle shaft to wheel hub

Remove corresponding front wheel.

Remove screw fastening front axle shaft to wheel hub.

 Installation: Replace bolt.
Slightly tighten screw by hand.

Remove brake caliper with brakepads and secure at vehicle with connected brake hose free of tension.

Remove holder of rpm sensor and brakepad wear sensor with electric lines from spring link (3) and place to one side.

Remove front axle rpm sensor from steering knuckle (1).

Remove suspension strut (2) from spring link (3).

Remove torsion bar linkage (4) from steering knuckle (1).

Remove tie rod (5) from steering knuckle (1).


The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used.
Otherwise, the ball head or steering knuckle (1) may be damaged.

Attach guard plate for brake cover plate.

Remove stabilizer bar from front axle.

 Do not remove torsion bar linkage (4) from stabilizer bar.

Support steering knuckle (1) with major assembly mount and mounting plate and secure against falling down with tensioning strap.



Secure front axle shaft against falling down.

Remove upper transverse control arm (6) from steering knuckle (1).


The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used.
Otherwise, the ball head or steering knuckle (1) may be damaged.

Remove spring link (3) from front axle carrier.

 Bolt, spring control arm to front axle carrier

Remove strut rod (7) from front axle carrier.

 Bolt, strut rod to front axle carrier

Carefully lower front-axle half using major assembly mount and remove.

Install in the reverse order.



Measure

Perform chassis alignment.
