Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle.

Remove lower engine compartment paneling

Unscrew pressure line connection (1) on compressor unit for AIRmatic (A9/1)

 Plug the pressure line for the duration of the repair operations.

If pressure line or its connection fittings are damaged:

Detach AIRmatic pressure reduction valve connector (A9/1x2)

Disconnect air compressor motor connector (A9/1x1)

Disconnect intake hose (2)

 Installation: If the air filter in the intake hose is replaced, the arrow on the air filter must point in the flow direction.

Unscrew nuts (arrows) and remove compressor unit for AIRmatic (A9/1)



Detach air compressor relay

 Only when installing a new air compressor.

When replacing the air compressor the air compressor relay should always be exchanged as the switching contacts may be predamaged.



Install in the reverse order
