Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension. | Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering. | |
1 | Place the vehicle on a ditch | Chock the vehicle to prevent it from moving. | |
2 | Turn-off the master switch | ||
3 | Fully discharge the pneumatic system | ||
4 | Detach the level regulating valve (1) air line | Connections engraved on the valve: | |
Carefully move the lines away and protect the connections with suitable plugs against impurities. | |||
5 | Remove the flange nut (6) and loosen the actuation rod (3) from the bottom support (5) | ||
6 | Remove the flange bolts and nuts (7) and the level regulating valve (1) from the top support (2) | Remove the complete level regulating valve with the actuation lever (10) and the rod (3). If necessary, remove also the top support (2). | |
| Clean | ||
7 | Clean the mechanical components, the flexible pipes and the connections | Handle flexible pipes carefully. | |
Dry-clean the joints of the drive shafts. | |||

8 | Check the condition of the top support (2), bottom support (5) , actuation rod (3) and the top and bottom articulations | Replace damaged or worn parts. | |
Check the exhaust dampers or filters at the connection 3. | |||
Replace the complete: | |||

9 | Install the top support (2) | Only if the support (2) has been removed. | |

Replace the sealing washers. | |||
13 | Connect the negative battery cable or turn on the main switch | ||
14 | Start the engine | Run the engine until it reaches the normal working pressure, and pressurize the pneumatic bellows. | |
15 | Check the tightness of the pneumatic suspension |
