Remove/install

1

Detach maintenance flap from side paneling on right inside luggage compartment

Remove trim from spare tire well

Remove 13-pin trailer hitch power outlet (X58)

Detach fuse holders (1.2, 1.3) from load compartment fuse and relay box (F4)

Detach ground line of branch-off line (1.1) from ground of right wheel arch in luggage compartment (W7)

Guide ground line of branch-off line (1.1) out of side paneling on left

Detach rear SAM control unit (N10/8)

Detach black 10-pin connector (1.4) from rear SAM control unit (N10/8)

Detach grommet (1.5) from rear center section

 Installation:
Make sure that the grommet (1.5) is seated correctly.
Leaks can occur otherwise.

Remove trailer hitch socket wiring harness (1) through opening in rear center section

Install in the reverse order



Check

Perform function check on ball neck and lighting signals at 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58)


