6 | Unclip wiring harness for trailer hitch socket (20) from studs available on trailer hitch crossmember (1) (see enlarged detail) | Two fastening clips (3). | |
7 | Remove rubber grommet (2) | ||
8 | Release wiring harness for trailer hitch socket (20) from the vehicle's wiring harness in the luggage compartment | ||
9 | Unscrew brown line (br) with round cable lug from ground (left wheelhouse in luggage compartment) (W6) | ||
10 | Unclip black, 6-pin connector (5) from trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) | ||
11 | Release and remove white, 14-pin connector (6) on the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) | ||
12 | Unclip violet, 5-pin connector (7) from the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) | ||
13 | Unclip black and turquoise-colored fuse carrier (8, 9) from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) | ||
14 | Pull wiring harness for trailer hitch socket (20) through body passage to the rear | Avoid any damage through sharp body edges. | |
15 | Install in the reverse order | Steps 14 up to 1. For model 209.3 the wiring harness for the trailer hitch socket (20) is to be routed on the left along the hinged holder for the trailer hitch socket (4), for model 209.4 on the right. | |
