Detach trailer socket (X58)

Detach grommet (arrow) from rear center section

Remove spare tire well paneling

Open cover in paneling at left side in trunk

Open cover in paneling at right side in luggage compartment

8

Loosen trailer hitch release (A63)

Detach trailer hitch lock electrical connector from trailer hitch release (A63)

Detach branch-off line (1.1)

Detach blue connector (1.2) from trailer recognition control unit (N28/1)

Detach black connector (1.3) from trailer recognition control unit (N28/1)

Detach ground line from right taillamp trunk ground point (W7/1)

 Right taillamp trunk ground point

Remove electrical wiring harness (1) through opening in rear center section

Install in the reverse order



Check

Conduct function check on mechanical swing-away trailer hitch

Perform function test of light signals at trailer hitch socket


