1 | Release trailer hitch | ||
2 | Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from electronic ignition lock control unit | ||
3 | Open spare wheel well cover | ||
4 | Remove spare tire well panel | ||
5 | Detach black 22-pin connector (2) from trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) | ||
6 | Disconnect vehicle interior/trailer hitch electrical connector (X58/33) | ||
7 | Remove socket wiring harness/release for trailer hitch (1) from control unit carrier | ||
8 | Release rubber grommet (arrow) on rear center section | ||
9 | Route socket wiring harness/release for trailer hitch (1) and rubber grommet (arrow) outwards through the opening in the rear center section | ||
10 | Raise vehicle | ||
11 | Disconnect black 8-pin clutch (20.2) from trailer hitch release (A63) | ||
12 | Detach socket wiring harness/release for trailer hitch (1) from ball neck and from trailer hitch cross member | ||
13 | Remove trailer socket (X58) | ||
14 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| Check | ||
15 | Perform function check on trailer hitch with electrical release | ||
16 | Perform function test of light signals at trailer hitch socket | ||
