2 With the help of the support (3) and dial gauge (4), measure the distance between the           housing face (5) and the bearing race (2).

3 Put in the cover recess the spacer ring and some compensating washers.

4 Put a new sealing joint on the rear cover.

When tightened, a new sealing joint has a 0.05 mm size reduction due to the compression. During the assembly, take into consideration this value.

5 With the dial gauge (4) and the support (3) measure the distance between the joint's face (6)           and the bearing contact surface (7).
Confirm the obtainment of the proper dimension, which is an amount higher than the flange of the bearing external race. Select the compensating shims in such a way that you obtain the prescribed axial play.
