2 | Detach propeller shaft to front axle from transfer case | ||
3 | Disconnect electrical connector from travel and speed rpm sensor (7) | ||
4 | Remove interaxle differential lock shift cylinder (2) | ||
The interaxle differential lock shift cylinder (2) must be removed, otherwise the screw behind it cannot be removed. | |||
5 | Remove screws around circumference of shift housing (1) | ||
6 | Install two drifts as guide pins | Use guide pin M10 or drift, special tool 715 589 09 15 00 | |
7 | Remove shift housing (1) | ||
8 | Remove compression spring (4) and shims (5, 6) | ||
9 | Disassemble shift housing (1) | ||
| Install | ||
10 | Assemble shift housing (1) | ||
11 | Check and adjust end play of countershaft and planet carrier | ||
12 | Insert compression spring (4) with lubricant into shift fork | Grease, silicone-based, 100 g | |
13 | Install determined shims (5, 6) for countershaft and planet carrier in shift housing | ||
14 | Clean sealing surfaces | ||
15 | Attach shift housing (1) with new seal (3) to transfer case | After the shift housing (1) has been fastened using 2 screws, remove guide pins. | |

16 | Install interaxle differential lock shift cylinder (2) | ||
17 | Attach compressed-air line to interaxle differential lock shift cylinder (2) | ||
18 | Connect electrical connector to travel and speed rpm sensor (7) | ||
19 | Mount propeller shaft to front axle onto transfer case | ||
20 | Add oil to transfer case | ||
