Check
1 Mount parallel gauge (3) on the sealing surface of the housing.
2 Measure distance from the parallel gauge (3) up to the sealing surface using depth gauge (2) = dimension "A".

2 Measure distance from the parallel gauge (3) up to the involute profile of the planet carrier (1) using depth gauge (2) = dimension "B".
3 Calculate the protrusion.
Dimension "B" must be smaller than dimension "A" by the specified value, if necessary adjust the protrusion.
Adjust
4 Remove planetary gear set and pull off the small tapered roller bearing.
5 Adjust the protrusion at the small tapered roller bearing with appropriate shims.
6 Install small tapered roller bearing.
7 Install planetary gear set.
8 Repeat test.
