Shown here on a version with a three-arm flange. The sequence is identical for versions with a round flange or four-arm flange.
Removing
1 Lock transmission crown wheel/pinion by engaging the parking lock.
2 Loosen and unscrew twelve-point collared nut (47).
Replace twelve-point collared nut.
3 Pull three-arm flange (48) off output shaft.
Installing
4 Slide three-arm flange (48) onto output shaft.
5 Screw on and tighten twelve-point collared nut (47).
6 Secure twelve-point collared nut (47) by driving the collar into the recess in the output shaft.
