Modify special tool

Only on engine 611:

In order to be able to carry out the work procedures described in the following the special tool must be modified accordingly.

Modifying drift for output radial shaft seal

Remove intermediate shaft (1)

Installation: Do not damage lip of radial shaft seal (4). The circlip (3) must engage safely in the transmission output shaft.

Installation: Insert the splines on the intermediate shaft (1) in the splines of the output shaft in the transmission.

Remove circlip (3) and sealing ring (2) on the intermediate shaft (1)

Installation: Replace circlip (3) and sealing ring (2)

Remove rotary shaft seal (4)

Installation: Install radial shaft sealing ring (4) using drift punch.

Installation: Observe correct seating and even installation depth of radial shaft sealing ring (4)

Install in the reverse order

Remove/install output radial shaft seal
