1 | Remove engine encapsulation under engine and transmission | ||
2 | Remove heat shield on transmission | ||
3 | Remove locking device (5) and press ball socket (4) out of shift lever (2) | ||
4 | Unscrew hexagon nut (1) from shift shaft and remove shift lever (2) | ||
5 | Turn threaded taper (arrow) of internal extractor clockwise, clamping securely in the rotary shaft seal. | Drive internal extractor into the rotary shaft seal possibly applying some gentle blows with a hammer. | |

6 | Turn shaft (7) clockwise | Steady threaded taper of internal extractor | |
7 | Remove rotary shaft seal | ||

8 | Push rotary shaft seal (3) over the shift shaft and drive in until it abuts axially using the installation drift punch (8) | Drift punch for sealing ring on shift shaft | |
9 | Mount shift lever (2) and tighten hexagon nut (1) | ||
10 | Press ball socket (4) onto the shift lever (2) and install locking device (5) | ||
11 | Install heat shield on transmission | ||
12 | Attach engine encapsulation under engine and transmission |
