Removal

Remove transmission

Remove front transmission cover

Remove intermediate plate

Dismantling

Remove locking cage (113)

6

Remove shift lever (117) and bearing shaft for 1st/2nd gear (103)

7

Take out main shaft (20) from the transmission housing

 Tilt counter shaft (40) to one side

Remove shift lever (120) and bearing shaft for 3rd/4th gear (103)

9

Remove shift arm, shift fork and shift sleeve for the 3rd/4th gear

Take out counter shaft (40) from transmission housing

 Check counter shaft for damage and wear.

Take out drive shaft (2) with tapered roller bearing and synchronizing ring from the 4th gear in the transmission housing

Knock-out bearing outer race from counter shaft and drive shaft from transmission housing using a suitable drift

Unscrew collared nut (111) and pull out and remove bearing pin (106) with locking leaf spring (109), locking lever (107), bushing (108) and shim (110)



Assembly

Install locking lever, locking leaf spring, shim, bearing pin and collared nut

 Replace collared nut

Using suitable alignment tool, drive home bearing outer races until they project approx. 2 mm (counter shaft) or 6 mm (drive shaft)

Insert counter shaft (40) in the transmission housing

17

Install shift arm, shift fork and shift sleeve for 3rd/4th gear

 Replace sealing washer

Insert main shaft (20) in transmission housing

 Clamp leaf spring with shop-made hook



Hook for clamping the leaf spring

Install shift lever and bearing shaft into 1st/2nd gear

 Replace sealing washer

Install locking cage

 Note installed position, replace sealing washer
