Checking wear limit between synchronizer cone and sliding sleeve

B26.50-0268-06

1 Place synchronizing cone on the sliding sleeve and twist so both have uniform contact

2 Measure distance "A" between the synchronizer cone and the sliding sleeve in several points

3 Remove synchronizer cone from sliding sleeve and verify measure "B" between the edge and the recess of the sliding sleeve

4 Measure width "C" of the synchronizer cone

5 To calculate wear out limit: Ass measures "A" and "C", subtract "B" from this value (hence A+B-C). The result obtained cannot be lower than the wear out limit (check table)

6 Control all synchronizer cones and respective sliding sleeves, keeping them together for posterior pair mounting
