1 Install the current compensating washer (2).
2 Measure with the dial indicator (4) assembled in the support (3) of the separation surface of the bearing cover (1) up to its compensating washer (2) = measurement "A" .

3 In the case of versions fitted with retarder (code BA9) install the separator ring without play.
4 Install the taper roller bearing external track (5) without play.
5 Measure with the dial indicator (4) assembled in the support (3), of the taper roller bearing external track (5) until the separation surface of the gearbox = measurement "B" .
In the case of version with retarder (code BA9), measure from the separator ring.
The measurement "A" has to be higher than the measurement "B", the equivalent to the play prescribed for the bearing.
In the case there are differences, install a compensating washer (2) properly calculated.
