1 | Assemble the tool on the 3rd/4th synchronizing hub | Lift, using a tackle, approximately 10 or 20 mm, so that the counter shaft (1) bends and get rid of main shaft (2). | |

2 | Remove the counter shaft (1) | ||
3 | Lift the tackle and remove the main shaft (2) and the selector forks assembly (3) still grouped and separate them later | Place them carefully on a clean bench and remove the tool. | |
4 | Push the rear bearing of the main shaft outside the housing with a proper tool | Do not allow the bearing to fall on the floor. | |
5 | Push the rear bearing and the spacer of the counter shaft outside the housing | ||
6 | Remove the bolts that attach the mains shaft cover to the front housing | ||
7 | Push the axle by the housing with a rubber hammer | Do not allow the axle to fall and be damaged. | |
8 | Remove the retaining plate of the counter shaft frontal bearing (1) and the spacer | ||
9 | Push the auxiliary axle outside the bearing cover with a rubber hammer | ||
| Install | ||
10 | If necessary, install new bushing | Apply thread sealing. | |
11 | Support the intermediate housing on the bench, with the rear part upward. Install the rear bearing cover of the counter shaft (1) in the housing. Push until it is almost close to the housing case face | | |
12 | Install the rear bearing external track and rollers with the retaining ring channel turned outside. Invert the housing on the bench | Use a proper mandrel. | |
13 | Fit the tool on the rear end of the main shaft and attach it with a large washer and the attachment bolts of the sun gear | | |
14 | Position the selector forks assembly (3) in the main shaft (2) | Make sure that the selector forks assembly enters in the rear bushing. | |
15 | Fit the assembly inside the housing with the assistance of a tackle | Support the main shaft (2) and the selector forks assembly (3) approximately 20 mm above the installation normal position. | |
16 | Install the 3rd/4th synchronizing ring and the flange in the synchronizing hub | Position the counter shaft (1) coupling the main shaft (2). | |
17 | Lower and seat the mains shaft (2), the counter shaft and the (1) selector forks assembling (3) in their respective bushing and bearings | Make sure that the selector block is positioned in order to not interfere in the frontal housing and remove the lifting tool. | |
18 | Couple the fork with the smaller leg turned to the gearbox right side and the shoes to the synchronizing ring | ||
19 | Maneuver the 3rd/4th selection fork until it fits in the selector ball end | ||
20 | Lubricate and install the spindle bearing of the main shaft | ||
21 | Install the main shaft assembling and the bearing in the front housing | ||
22 | Reinstall the elastic ring | Push the bearing back until the elastic ring touches the housing. | |
23 | Install the front bearing cover of the auxiliary axle inside the front housing | | |
24 | Install a new gasket in the main shaft front bearing cover | Press the gasket firmly on the clincher. Take care to not damage it. | |
25 | Lubricate the axle seal surface and install the front cover | Apply sealant in the front cover assembling surface. |
