Disassemble

11

Unscrew bolts (1) on transmission housing (2)

12

Heat up transmission housing (2) using hot air gun

Ensure that the radial shaft sealing ring (5) of the axle shaft is not damaged by the hot air flow otherwise it should be replaced.

Heat up transmission housing (2) evenly in the areas of the hatched zones (see pictures A).

13

Detach transmission housing (2) from clutch housing (3)

Ensure that the radial shaft sealing ring (5) of the axle shaft is not damaged by the hot air flow otherwise it should be replaced.

To facilitate disassembly position a suitable prying tool between the transmission housing (2) and clutch housing (3) (arrows) and carefully separate transmission housing (2) from clutch housing (3)

(pictures B).

If necessary heat up the transmission housing (2) in the areas of the hatched zones (see pictures A) again evenly using a hot air gun.

Helper required

Checking

14

Check spacer rings (4)

Only on transmissions in which spacer washers (4) are fitted.

Check spacer washers (4) for cleanliness and correct seat.

15

Remove the remains of sealant on transmission housing (2) and remove clutch housing (3) and clean sealing surfaces on the transmission housing (2) and clutch housing (3)

16

Coat sealant, corresponding to the sealant run shown in picture C, on the sealing surface of the clutch housing (3)

Apply the sealing compound evenly. Make sure that no sealing compound enters the mechanical system of the transmission.
