Remove

Remove central clutch release bearing.

Disassemble

Remove rear transmission cover.

Remove roller bearings of drive shaft (7) and output shafts (5, 6) from transmission housing rear section (3).

Remove shift module.

Unscrew the screws  (8).

Remove transmission housing rear section (3).


To detach, do not drive in any tools between transmission housing rear section (3) and transmission housing front section (9).
The sealing surfaces will be damaged otherwise! If necessary, heat up the transmission housing in the area of the sealing surfaces using the heat gun.

Remove oil ducts (2).

Pry drive shaft (7) with output shafts (5, 6) out of transmission housing front section.

 Aid of helper required.

Take differential (1) out of transmission housing front section (9).

Disassemble transmission housing front section (9).

When replacing transmission housing front section (9).

Remove tapered roller bearing outer race from transmission housing rear section (3).

When replacing transmission housing rear section (3).

Assemble

Install tapered roller bearing outer race from transmission housing rear section (3).

After replacing transmission housing rear section (3).

Assemble transmission housing front section (9).

After replacing transmission housing front section (9).

Position drive shaft (7) and output shafts (5, 6) on support tool.

 Aid of helper required.

 Make sure that the shift forks are seated correctly at the output shafts (5, 6).

Position transmission housing rear section (3) on drive shaft (7) and output shafts (5, 6).

Install roller bearings of drive shaft (7) and output shafts (5, 6) in transmission housing rear section (3).

Turn over transmission housing rear section (3) with support fixture and remove support fixture.

Install oil ducts (2).

 Make sure that the oil ducts (2) are seated correctly.

Insert differential (1) into transmission housing rear section (3).

 Make sure that the differential (1) is seated correctly.

Install shift module.
