Disassemble and assemble

Remove the gearbox front housing

Before disassembling, separate the front hosing from the rest of the gearbox.

Remove the needle roller bearing (17), using special tools



Assemble: Please note that the bearing has a reinforced edge, that must be face up.



Remove the plug (1), spring (2), O-ring and the positioner (3)

These components can be previously removed.

Unfasten and remove the plugs (4, 5, 15, 16)

Assemble: Observe the prescribed tightening (force) moment.



Check the condition and if necessary replace the plugs (6, 14) and the closing caps (7, 10)

Unscrew the hexagonal bolts (12) and remove the lateral cover (13)

This type of lateral cover is not used in all the gearbox types.

Assemble: replace the sealing joint (11) and tighten the bolts up to the prescribed tightening moment.



Remove with an appropriate drift the outer races of the drive shaft bearing (8) and those of the counter shaft (9)

Assemble: heat the races up to approximately 80oC and assemble them facing the front housing.
