| Remove | ||
Danger | Risk of fire/risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. | No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
1 | Turn off ignition | Start next jobs only after 1 minute for the automatic gear shift control unit (AGS) (12A05) can be in resting position.
2 | Disconnect battery ground cable
Topical note | Notes on battery
3 | Remove acoustic encapsulation parts under the gearbox
4 | Remove the covering underneath the automatic gear shift control unit AGS (12A05)
5 | Remove the cable clamps (2)
6 | Remove connectors (4, 5)
7 | Unlock connector (3) with an adequate tool and remove it
8 | Remove screws (1) on the automatic gear shift control unit AGS (12A05)
9 | Remove the automatic gear shift control unit AGS (12A05)
| Install | ||
10 | Install automatic gear shift control unit AGS (12A05)
Replace sealing (7) and protect against falls (e.g. with vaseline).
Be careful so that the hydraulic fluid does not get to the sealing (7) as that may cause leaks and by consequence the automatic gear command module AGS to fail.
11 | Install the screws (1) to the automatic gear shift control unit AGS (12A05) | Fastening of the control module
12 | Connect and lock connectors (3, 4, 5)
13 | Fixate gearbox lash with cable holders (2)
