Remove/install

Drain off coolant.

Release and disconnect the electrical connectors (2).

Remove the screw (10).

Remove coolant lines (9) from coolant pump (1) and seal openings with protective covers.

Remove screw (6).

Remove cable duct (7) from coolant pump (1).

 Mounting wedge

Unclip wiring harness (8) from coolant thermostat.

Remove vacuum line (5) from coolant pump (1) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

 Record plug

Unscrew screw (4).

 Screw, coolant line to high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation valve/water pump/crankcase

Remove screws (3).

 Bolt, coolant pump to crankcase

Remove coolant pump (1) and catch escaping coolant in a suitable container.

 Installation: Replace seal.

Clean sealing surfaces with a lint-free rag.

Install in the reverse order.

 Metric screws/bolts and nuts as per MBN 10 105, 10 143
