| Check | ||
| Remove thermostat valve (1).
| Fasten a thermostat wire to thermostat valve (1) and submerge it in water vessel (2).
| Use an adequate heater (5) to heat the water, stir water to obtain uniform temperatures within the vessel. | Do not use blowtorch to heat up the water.
| Measure water temperature. | From 8 o C lower than opening start, the temperature cannot be increased by more than 1 to 2 o C per minute. When water temperature reaches the opening start value, the valve will begin to open.
| Slowly heat water to full stroke temperature (L) of short-circuit valve (1.2).
| Slowly heat water to the total opening temperature of the main valve (1.1). After 6 to 8 minutes, the main valve (1.1) will be fully open. Then measure the opening. | If specified values are not obtained and if there is any sign of malfunction, thermostat valve (1) must be replaced by a new one.
| Install thermostat valve (1). |
