 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove

Remove lower engine compartment lining

Unscrew cap (1).



Check

Check coolant level and correct.

 Engine cooling system

Screw tester cap (3) onto coolant expansion reservoir (2).

 Test cap

Connect pressure pump (4) at tester cap (3).

 Pressure pump

Apply test pressure to engine cooling system.


Do not exceed the specified test pressure.
Otherwise the engine cooling system will be damaged.

Check leak tightness of the engine cooling system.

If pressure loss occurs,



Localize and eliminate cause.

Actuate pressure release button at pressure pump (4) and reduce test pressure in engine cooling system.

Remove pressure pump (4) from tester cap (3).

Unscrew tester cap (3).

Check coolant level.

If coolant loss was detected.

If the coolant level is not correct,



Correct coolant level.

Install

Screw on cap (1).

Install lower engine compartment lining.
